What video sites are supported?

Video Downloader Plus works on any site that delivers video over HLS (m3u8), DASH (mpd), MP4, or WebM. Detection is format-based, not site-specific, so it covers a broad range of streaming and video hosting platforms without needing per-site updates.

Does Video Downloader Plus work with YouTube?

No. Chrome Web Store policies prohibit extensions from downloading YouTube content, and Video Downloader Plus complies with those policies to stay listed on the store. This applies to all Chrome extensions, not just Video Downloader Plus.

What if a download fails?

Video Downloader Plus has built-in retry logic for unstable connections. HLS downloads can resume from the point they stopped rather than restarting from the beginning. If a download still fails:

1. Refresh the page and let Video Downloader Plus re-detect the stream
2. Try a lower quality level — smaller segments are more tolerant of slow connections
3. Check your internet connection
4. Contact support if the problem keeps happening

Why am I limited to 720p?

Free accounts can download at 720p and below without any cap. Downloads at 1080p and above count against the 3 HD downloads per day limit on the free plan. Upgrade to Professional to remove that restriction entirely.

Which browsers are supported?

Video Downloader Plus supports Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Brave. Firefox support is planned for a future release. The extension works on all three platforms — macOS, Windows, and Linux.

How do I update the extension?

Chrome, Edge, and Brave handle extension updates automatically in the background. You do not need to take any action to stay on the latest version.

Is the extension safe?

Billing

How does Lifetime Access work?

Lifetime Access is a single one-time payment that grants permanent access to all Professional features. There are no renewal charges and the access does not expire. Future features added to the Professional plan are included. Learn more on the Lifetime Access page.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, at any time. Go to vidow.io/billing and cancel from your billing dashboard. Your Professional access continues through the end of the current billing period, then the account moves to the free plan automatically.

What payment methods are accepted?

Video Downloader Plus accepts all major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and others — processed securely through Stripe.
