Google Drive connects through OAuth 2.0, which means Video Downloader Plus never sees your Google password. You authorize access once, and Google issues a token that Video Downloader Plus uses for uploads.

Prerequisites

  • A Video Downloader Plus account on the Professional plan
  • A Google account with sufficient Drive storage for your videos

Connect Google Drive

1

Open Cloud Sync

Go to vidow.io/cloud-sync and sign in to your Video Downloader Plus account.
2

Click Connect on Google Drive

Locate the Google Drive card and click Connect. Video Downloader Plus redirects you to Google’s OAuth authorization page.
3

Choose your Google account

Pick the Google account you want to use. If several accounts are listed, select the one with enough free space for video storage.
4

Grant permissions

Google asks you to confirm that Video Downloader Plus can manage files in your Drive. Video Downloader Plus writes only to a dedicated folder it creates — your existing files and folders remain untouched.Click Allow to complete the authorization.
5

Connection confirmed

You’re returned to Video Downloader Plus. The Google Drive card now displays a green Connected indicator, and you can start syncing videos.

How uploads work

Video Downloader Plus uses Google’s resumable upload protocol, which is designed to handle large files reliably:
  • Files smaller than 100MB are sent in a single HTTP request
  • Larger files open a resumable session, which tolerates network interruptions
  • If a transfer drops partway through, it picks up from the last confirmed byte rather than restarting
  • All uploads are chunked into 5MB segments to keep memory usage predictable

Storage location

Video Downloader Plus creates a dedicated folder at the root of your Google Drive. Every synced video lands in that folder. You can move or rename files inside Drive after the upload without affecting Video Downloader Plus’s ability to write new ones.

Managing the connection

Connection health

The Cloud Sync page shows a live status for each connected provider:
  • Healthy — The OAuth token is current and uploads are working normally
  • Broken — The token was invalidated or expired. Click Reconnect to go through authorization again
  • Revoked — You removed Video Downloader Plus’s access from your Google account. Reconnect from the Cloud Sync page to restore it
Video Downloader Plus refreshes OAuth tokens automatically before they expire, so you should rarely see a Broken status during normal use.

Disconnect

To remove the Google Drive connection from Video Downloader Plus:
  1. Visit vidow.io/cloud-sync
  2. Open the options on the Google Drive card and choose Disconnect
  3. The connection is deleted from Video Downloader Plus — no files in Drive are affected
To also cut off access from Google’s side, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Video Downloader Plus from the list of connected apps.

Troubleshooting

The most likely cause is an expired or revoked OAuth token. Go to vidow.io/cloud-sync, disconnect Google Drive, then reconnect and reauthorize. New tokens are issued during the reconnect flow.
Check how much space is available at drive.google.com/settings. Free Google accounts share 15GB across Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. If you’re running low, free up space in Drive or consider upgrading your Google One storage plan.
Google can invalidate a token for several reasons:
  • You changed your Google account password
  • You manually removed Video Downloader Plus’s access in your Google account settings
  • Google flagged unusual activity on your account
In any of these cases, click Reconnect on the Cloud Sync page to issue a fresh token.
